Sushi matchup and moron catsMarch 20, 2006 - 3:21 p.m.
Next year, instead of spending money on entering an NCAA tournament pool, I think I'll just take a couple of $20 bills and wipe my butt with them, and then flush them. I'll get more use out of them that way. Iowa lost. Illinois lost. Michigan State lost. Half of the left side of my brackets are trashed. Argh. Still, I watch. Had a sort of innocuous date last night down in Bethesda with a woman I'd been emailing for a week or so. She was pleasant, nice to talk to, but I didn't get a sense that there was much of a real connection there. She reminded me of someone else, but I can't remember that woman's name. Nobody I ever dated, just somebody I know. I know... Donna. Except the hair was different. One nice thing about this woman: we went to get sushi, and all the stuff I didn't like, she liked, and vice-versa, so she got the salmon eggs and the smoked eel, and I went through all the yellowtail and wasabi. I figure, no sushi meal is complete until I get that little nose-clearing blast of wasabi down the back of my throat. Real wasabi is practically impossible to find at most sushi places -- what you're really getting is Chinese mustard mixed with horseradish and colored green. Does the trick, just doesn't have the right flavor. So, here we are into another week. The cats complained they were out of food this morning, when what had really happened was that they managed to flip one of their dishes off the table and land it (laden with food) upside-down on the floor, thus blocking their access to it. Did I mention how retarded my cats usually are? It's almost time for me to start doing taxes. I've been holding off because I have this nagging feeling I'm missing something, but I can't figure out what. I have all my statements from the mortgage and whatnot, but I keep thinking there's something else. Argh.
