The diesel is now happier. I took it over and had the chip in the ECU reprogrammed. It's remarkably simple: insert $200, and the guy reaches in and finds 28 more horsepower and 60 more pounds-feet of torque. The car drives like the gas Passat now. While I was there, I asked about chipping the gas Passat, and they can tune that to over 200 horsepower and improve its unimpressive gas mileage.
