Well, I still own my house. I just got back from the closing for my refinance, which did partly to save a little money on payments and mostly because I was sick of dealing with the home-equity people at my mortgage company. I'll end up saving about $65 a month over what I pay for both the mortgage and the equity line now, and I'll never have to write a paper check again!

When did title attorneys get so hot? The woman who did my closing was just smokin'! About 28, straight, long, blonde hair, probably 5'4", 110 pounds. I have no idea how she ended up sitting in windowless rooms all day, telling people like me where to initial and where to sign. She could be a model or something.

In any case, that made the closing very much more pleasant than it already was. I should have asked, but didn't ask, where she got her dress, which was a really lightweight sort of sheer-ish fabric, black with small white polka-dots. Melody and I searched in vain last year for such a dress for her.

So, I get a small vacation from mortgage payments, and can continue paying down other things. The rest of the summer is mine.
