Melody and I had a relatively normal "date" on Sunday. She had asked if I was interested in going to a craft show down near DC, so... we went. Talked about non-cataclysmic stuff, froze our asses off in the wind, saw a bunch of neat stuff (I had never thought about getting stained glass made for my house but now I am) and had lunch.

I am still way, way too easily distracted. There was a fairly young (I'd say 17 girl) in the next booth with a really short jean skirt and long, kind of flowy hair. She was pretty cute, even if her actual face looked like the Gerber Baby. No sooner than she had left, than a not-so-young (probably 28) woman obviously dressed straight from church showed up with a group of people. She had a truly killer outfit, short-skirted suit, all black and white and cute... elegant shoes. And just astonishing calves.

I couldn't figure out what weather both these women had thought they were dressing for, but I liked it anyway.

Melody and I talked again Sunday night on the phone... she finally explained what she's up to, and essentially, she figures that since she isn't settling on any one person for a while, it's not like she expects me to wait around for her. That's good, because tonight I have a date with a tall blonde woman in Herndon, and next weekend, someone special is coming to visit from far away.

Even better, at the end of the month, the other opera singer (we'll call her Donna) is coming to the DC area to visit her brother. She is normally from Indiana, but she is so compelling I am quite intentionally ignoring the distance. She, too, is quite tall (5'10" -- the blonde woman this evening, whom we'll call Meredith, is 5'11") and has a gorgeous, sweet voice.

I do still possess a Southwest Airlines frequent-shopper card.

And, apparently, a lot more options than I give myself credit for.
